WHOA! This has felt like the longest 9 days of my life! This detox was very interesting. If you haven't read the previous post about my detox plans, click here! I had some ups and downs, but I stuck with it as best I could! I worked out 6 days out of the 9 day detox, which was tough! Here's a quick breakdown of what I ate:
Day 1: 7:16am-The struggle is real!
- Watermelon slices
- Oatmeal w/ bananas and little honey
- Baby carrots
I really want French toast covered with syrup with eggs and bacon. Geez!
- Seasoned Grilled Veggies
- Brown Rice
- Watermelon slices (I love watermelon!)
- Red Beans and Brown Rice
- Steamed & Seasoned Veggies
Day 2 & 3
I pretty much ate the same thing except I added more fruit with my breakfast and lunch.
Day 4: ONE OF THE HARDEST DAYS!!
- Oatmeal w/ bananas
- Eggs with spinach
*Sigh* So , I slipped and ate some grilled chicken. Damn me for starting this detox during the Labor Day weekend! I did manage to eat it with only vegetables and brown rice.. No BBQ for me! Even though I was surrounded by ribs, steaks, cookies and cakes! (Hey, that rhymed!)
I was mostly full from the lunch being that it was a late lunch, so I only ate a mini watermelon and made a fruit smoothie.
Day 5,6 & 7
I ate the same things from Day 1 "Yay!" Sarcasm..
- Cantaloupe chunks
- Fruit smoothie
- Scrambled eggs
- Spinach salad w/red, yellow peppers
- pineapple slices
- Baked Sweet Potato
- Grilled Vegetables
Day 9: LAST DAY OF MY DETOX! :)
I wanted to end this on a strong note, so I ate nothing but fruits and vegetables!
So, on September 10, I weighed myself and guess what?! I lost 7 pounds! Yay!! Even though I completed this detox, I'm not jumping back to bad eating habits. I actually enjoyed the food choices and it wasn't that hard to stick with eating healthy foods. I have more energy and I'm not feeling sluggish and tired. I plan on cooking more and making healthy food choices a part of my every day. I might even try this detox again in about a month or so! Hello to healthy living!
